This review isn't about the food at all ... I looked online to check their hours as hubby & I was going to stop in there after work one day this past week to buy a gift certificate (for my Dad's birthday) and to maybe grab dinner to go that night. I looked online and it says that they close at 7:00. Perfect! So we go by there at about 6:00. The building's all dark and they're CLOSED. (This was on a Thursday evening and not a holiday.) So I go up to the door to see if there's a sign saying why they might be closed. Nope, no sign at all. And I check the sign listing their hours of operation, thinking maybe it's listed wrong online. Nope, it also says that they were supposed to be open till 7 p.m.

So not only did they not get any business from me that night for a gift certificate purchase and from take-out foods ... how many other people might've thought to stop by there for dinner or whatever???

Not good hospitality, not good business sense.

My husband and i both felt like some seafood and wanted to stay close to home. I chose the boat, not having been there in a few years.  We were  not disappointed. I had a three way combo with fish ,scallops and shrimp. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted so fresh, the scallops were sweet and succulent, not overcooked  as they can be sometime. My husband enjoyed fried oysters and was a happy diner. We both had a cup of clam chowder that was creamy and flavorful. We each had a soda and the bill came to $47.and change. The service was very good and the place was very clean with a cute ambiance. The only drawback for me was the generic bottle of cold ketchup, straight out of the fridge, and I didn't  like the taste of it. Overall I'm  sure we'll  be  back. I highly recommend the boat restaurant.

Popped in a couple of days ago for breakfast. I gotta tell you I really wanted to like this place--huge fan of local diners. We found a booth in the ship side of the restaurant. While it could've been pretty cool at one point, the incredibly sticky table, cobwebs on the ceiling, dismal lighting, and depressingly dark fish tank made for a horrible setting.

I ordered a cheese and mushroom omelette with a side of corned beef hash while my wife got one of the breakfast specials. Service took a while but I think there was only one server working that morning. Oh, our waitress was great! Overworked but great!

The omelette wasn't terrible but the canned mushrooms killed the whole thing. Slimy grey mushrooms that tasted about a year old. The corned beef hash wasn't hash, it was shredded corned beef on a plate. No potatoes, spices, etc. Now I love corned beef so I wasn't put out. In fact, the corned beef may have been the only tasty chunk of food on the table.

My wife's food was worse than mine. The eggs were eggs. Not very high quality but whatever. The really bad items were the bacon and sausage. I ate the sausage which were dry on the outside brown-and-serve types. The kind my grandmother would make when she wanted us kids to be quite because it would take about 20 minutes to choke one down. But it was the bacon...dear god the bacon...that did us both in. If bacon came in can it would look like this. I have never seen bacon with a perfectly burned-black border around it.

It's the kind of bacon that makes you want to grab fistfulls of the stuff and run out into the street screaming "WWHHHYYYYYYY!?" We did not finish a single strip. Horrible doesn't really encapsulate this bad bacon.

Except for the nice waitress, the whole place was pretty dang awful and our guts were off for a couple hours afterward.

I can't attest to the seafood and I'm not risking my guts there again.
